Digital Storytelling: My Experience

From last weeks post, you could probably guess that this week I tried to produce my own digital story. This is how it went:

At first, I started by thinking about what exactly I want to do for the task. I knew that the story would be in the format of a video but I had no idea about what exactly this video would be about. I thought about it for a few days and then eventually settled on the story of how I choose my career path.
After that, I started to write the script. Since I wrote about my own life and I had researched how to write a good script for last week's blog post, I did not have to do much research for this. During the script writing process, I also came up with ideas of what visualizations I wanted to use to make the whole story more interesting. I took notes on these ideas and started to draw pictures of the different stages of my life on paper because I wanted my video to have the vibe of some of those "Draw My Life" videos that can be found on youtube. After scanning these, I now had the most important parts of my video done.
Then, I imported the photos into a video editing software, recorded the voiceovers and designed an into and an outro for the project. During that stage, I also had to come up with a title, which was another difficult task because it had to be short and sweet while it should simultaneously attract attention and make people interested in watching.
Finally, I exported my video from the editing software and uploaded it onto YouTube. If you want to check it out, here is the finished project and also the "Draw My Life" from youtuber Fleur DeForce, which was one of my inspiration videos.
