Digital Literacy

In the current world, it is important to be digitally literate. This entails a multitude of things which can be seen in the graphic below. Thankfully, schools all over the world are slowly adapting and teaching children from a young age what it takes to be responsible and knowledgeable online. But courses like these can help anybody and not just children.
From my own experience, I can assure you that it is true. Growing up, I didn't know about the internet, which meant that when we finally got a computer that was connected to it at my house, I and every other child that I knew had to figure out how the online world works by ourselves. I can tell you, it was a pain. And our parents were just as clueless as we were, so we didn't get any help there. It took us a long time to find our way around online and after a few years, the first courses on internet use popped up in our schools and our towns. While at first, we all thought that we didn't need that anymore, the courses turned out to be very helpful and I sometimes still refer to what I learned back then. A good example for this is one of the courses that taught us how to install software without littering our computers with those secondary programs or the persistent bing toolbar (does anyone else remember the pain of trying to uninstall that?).
So overall, I guess what I want to say is that it is not too late. A few more courses on digital literacy or 21st-century skills can only prove beneficial or at the very least, reassuring, if one actually already knew everything. So do as I say, and also as I do, because I can only recommend a refresher or an update to your online skillset.
